About me

I am a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist specialising in working with gender dysphoric children and adolescents and their families. 

I work in a National Specialist Team at the Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock Clinic in London and have a number of years of experience in this area. I also do group work and work with families where a parent has transitioned.   

In addition to my work with gender dysphoria and gender identity issues, I also work with children, adolescents and adults with broader range of mental health difficulties.

Specific experience and training:

I am a member of WPATH (World Professional Association of Transgendered Health) and am on the Child and Adolescent Committee panel. I present at national and international conferences and teach widely in this area. I have been involved in working with the media and undertake research in this area. I have completed the CSMT (Certificate in Working with Gender and Sexual Minority Clients ) with Pink Therapy which is their one year specialist programme and I am a Clinical Associate and hold a post of Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist with them.  In addition I deliver training for Pink Therapy.

I also work with children , adolescents and adults with mental health difficulties. I have received training in a number of therapeutic modalities including individual psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, Mentalisation and interpersonal therapy 


I qualified as a medical doctor in 1999 from Imperial Medical School and went to work in Brighton as a House Officer. I returned to London in 2001 and specialised in psychiatry .


In 2004 I trained as Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Tavistock Clinic. I have also completed an intercalated Psychology BSc at University College London. I am supportive, open minded and use an individualised approach. I have experience in a number of areas and work with all gender and sexual identities
