About me

I am a qualified counsellor and academic practitioner-researcher (or researcher-practitioner) of transpersonal psychotherapy and sexuality/spirituality.

I provide Counselling and Therapy around a number of issues including: grief, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, finding meaning and purpose in life, transitions, relationship issues, decisions, spiritual growth and personal development.

I have particular experience with clients facing personal, cultural, gender, sexuality, relationship, spiritual and workplace issues. This includes counselling for people already in or seeking GSRD (Gender, Sexual and Relationally Diverse)/LGBTQ+/Gay/BDSM/Leather/Kink relationships, including questions/concerns around sexuality/fetish, coming out issues, power dynamics and roles, chemsex issues, fantasy exploration and understanding, overall self-acceptance, self-actualisation and spiritual/transpersonal issues.

Your sexuality will not necessarily be the focus of our counselling work, unless you want it to be. I offer a safe space in which you can explore your sexuality and/or gender identity in a supportive, understanding setting.

Qualifications and Experience:

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Psychosynthesis counselling, after completing a three year training at The Psychosynthesis Trust in London, accredited by Middlesex University.

I am an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling Society (MNCS Accred) and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and abide by their Ethical Frameworks.

I hold Advanced Accredited Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity Therapist status with Pink Therapy (Accred AGSRDT)

I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Psychosynthesis Foundations, also from The Psychosynthesis Trust and an MA in Gender, Sexuality and Culture from University of London, Birkbeck.

Sexual & Gender Identity:

Experience and approach

Specific experience and training:

My primary experience and training is in Psychosynthesis, an integrated and holistic model of counselling and therapy which recognises that each of us are a soul on a personal journey. Central to its approach is an exploration of meaning, purpose, creativity, inspiration and values, whilst also addressing the many personal struggles that can effect us. Psychosynthesis seeks to explore, integrate and heal these areas through the search for wholeness beyond the bounds of a person’s individuality.

I have experience working with a number of issues including: grief, stress, anxiety, depression, issues related with chemsex, finding meaning and purpose in life, transitions, relationship issues, decisions, spiritual growth and personal development.

I specialise in working across gender, sexual and spiritual diversities including alternative sexualities and relationalities, kink, BDSM and, in particular, the gay male Leather scene.

I also have a particular interest in and specifically focus on the following areas of research and practice:

  • understanding of gender, sexuality and cultural issues with specific focus on the areas of male (homo)sexuality and adolescent maturation into adulthood
  • intergenerational mentorship and the significance of ‘elders’ contribution in the community,
  • S&M and alternative-style relationships
  • how sexuality and spirituality are intertwined.
I am a member of Pink Therapy's Advanced Clinical Discussion Group: Kink and have also participated in numerous training weekends and workshops on Gender, Sexual and Relational Diversity issues including working with Chemsex.
