About me

I am a professionally trained sex and relationship therapist. I am a supervisor and willing to work with difficult ethical dilemmas within marginalised communities. My background involves teaching, sexual and reproductive health (GUM & HIV) and working with communities such as LGBTQI, sex workers and immigrants with identity, belonging and other issues. I have worked at various private and NHS settings.

I am trained in humanistic integrative counselling, which means I work with a combination of several humanistic models and theory. My special interest is in Diversity - cross cultural and transgender relationships and sexual health matters such as Erectile/Ejaculatory Dysfunctions, Vaginismus (painful intercourse for women), loss of desire, sexuality/gender and other sexual health related matters. I worked within the sexual and reproductive health for 18 years and understand clinical aspects of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. I am pro choice.

I am a BACP and COSRT accredited and UKCP registered therapist. I provide supervision and have extensive NHS management experience including coaching and mentoring of NHS managers. I am aware of gender and sexuality issues within workplace and have worked with organisations to mediate a professional working relationship between staff.

Experience and approach

Specific experience and training:

I qualified as a Psychosexual Psychotherapist in 1998 from South Bank University, London. I completed psychotherapy training and clinical supervision in 2000. I have worked at various private settings – BUPA hospital and the Priory and also at NHS settings including working in GP practices.

I have completed advanced diploma in couples therapy and have specific training in HIV impact on relationships. I use EMDR for trauma as part of my approach.

My NHS working background includes 18 years of working in sexual & reproductive health (SRH), which involves seeing individuals and couples. 

Some of my current clients have transgender issues, transitioning to male or to female. I have worked with relationship issues with number of cross cultural couples. I work with same sex couples who have different issues to heterosexual couples. 

I work with student therapists. I am also a supervisor.

As an ex NHS employee, I have worked with several NHS employees requring support with workplace isues. Having completed a MBA, my clients are also from the corporate world and easy to relate to their issues.

I am trained in out of control sexual behaviour and attachement issues such as attraction to porn from IACSAS (Boston, USA).
