About me
I work from Oxford Circus (W1W) and New Cross Gate (SE14) and am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MBACP-Accredited) with many years’ experience of working in therapeutic settings and an understanding of working with many diverse issues. I mainly work using the Person Centred Approach, however I also work Integratively and am open to looking at what works best for you as a client.
I started on my counselling journey almost 30 years ago as a Samaritan volunteer and for 10 years I worked as a Counselling Supervisor at ChildLine. I have also been the Young Persons Mental Health Lead at METRO LGBTQIA+ charity and managed METRO's Counselling service for 11-25 year olds, as well as supporting the volunteer counsellors and clients across the Over 25 service. I am a qualified teacher.
My aim is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental, confidential and safe environment for you to share your story and be heard. As a person centred counsellor I see my role as supportively guiding you towards your own answers and uncovering your own truths.
Some of the concerns I have worked with have included:-
Bereavement
Depression
Relationships
Sexuality
Drug and alcohol use
Abuse
Trauma
Gender Identity
Anxiety
Relationship difficulties
Challenging decisions
Loss, bereavement and life changes
Hearing voices
Self-harm
I provide long term or short term sessions and I am also able to work with you over the phone or using Skype. If you have questions that you don’t see answered here, please feel free to email or telephone me, you will be under no obligation, but it might give you a better idea of how we might work together.

Experience and approach
Specific experience and training:
Having worked within therapeutic settings for many years, I eventually settled on the Person Centred Approach for its acceptance and respect of you, as a person and the way you see the world and the belief that you are the only one truly able to know what you want and need.
Over the past few years, the most valuable element for me, has been my work at METRO where I have seen at first-hand the importance of giving people a space where they won’t be judged and where they don’t have to explain themselves or fight for acceptance. I am committed to ensuring that counselling is particularly accessible and appropriate for members LGBTQIA+ community.
Sometimes it can be hard to take that first step of finding help, especially if you are struggling to really understand what is wrong. I seek to give someone the space and time to explore what is happening for them in a non-judgemental, honest and empathic space in order to step towards enabling them to have autonomy over their own world and their own choices.
I have been supervising, managing and training counsellors at ChildLine for many years, safeguarding young people up to the age of 19, by supporting the counsellors they are in contact with, but have a broad experience of working with people of all age groups over many years.
I also deliver training on listening skills, safeguarding children, suicide prevention and LGBTQIA+ awareness to education, social care and health professionals. I have recently used my On-line Counselling experience at ChildLine to write and present an On-line Counselling training workshop for the volunteer counsellors at METRO.
