Dominic Davies and Cloud Taylor have both had articles published in the latest edition of the BACP journal Therapy Today (Feb 2007) about the need for therapists to be properly trained to work with sexual and gender minorities.

Dominic has also been invited to give a keynote presentation (with Glyn Hudson-Allez) at the BASRT residential conference at Warwick University on 12 & 13 May. The subject will be exploring our countertransferences to diverse sexual practices. Click here for the programme.

Charles Neal was one of the founding Clinical Associates invited to join Pink Therapy, by Dominic Davies in 2002. He has recently decided to solely practice from his home in Hastings and as he will no longer be seeing individual clients in London, Dominic has invited him to become an Honorary Clinical Associate. Charles will continue to be involved in Pink Therapy, but clients wishing to work with him will need to see him in Hastings.

Dominic was commissioned by Videojug to make some short self-help video's on a range of topics relevant to lesbians and gay men. They are now online, click here. Topics include: How to know if you are lesbian, gay or bisexual; How to accept yourself as gay; How to come out to a friend; How to come out to your parents; What to do when your friend tells you they are gay; What to do when your child tells you are gay; What to do if you suspect your child is gay; How to tell if someone is gay or straight; How to get involved in the gay community.

Dominic has been invited by the Individual Psychology Institute to visit Riga (in Latvia) to offer some training to psychologists who are wanting to develop counselling provision for the LGBT community in Riga. The trip is scheduled for March 2008.

Charles Neal and Dominic have made a training video for use internally on our courses of a demonstration of a therapy session illustrating Sexual Minority Therapy priniciples in action. Charles was the therapist and we are grateful to Gwynfor Evans who is a trained actor who was the client.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Catherine Butler onto the team of Clinical Associates. Catherine is a clinical psychologist and has been working at the Mortimer Market Clinic for the past four years and is also a UKCP Registered Systemic Therapist trained in working with couples and families.

Dominic Davies was invited by the Individual Psychology Institute of Riga (Latvia) to undertake some training for therapists there in working with gender and sexual minorities. As a result of the training, the mostly heterosexual group of therapists have decided to set up Latvia's first LGBT helpline and counselling service. The situation for sexual minorities in Latvia is probably the worst of all Baltic states. Click the links below for more information on the situtation there.
