Specific Training and Experience:
I have worked for several years with sexual minority clients in both my professional work as a counsellor and teacher (adult education and university) and in a voluntary capacity (rape crisis counselling and Samaritans). I teach courses on gender and sexuality issues and lead/facilitate courses and workshops on gender and sexuality awareness. I have worked closely with transgender and transsexual people (both M to F and F to M). I am a lesbian who 'tried' to be heterosexual when I was younger because of unresolved gender and sexuality issues and was married for 10 years. I came out as a lesbian at 31. For the last few years have been exploring aspects of my own transgender identity, as well as participating in social and political activities of local/regional lesbian and sexual minority groups.

As a person-centred counsellor, my interest is the client and the issues that are importance to them, rather than concentrating on particular 'problems' or specialities. I have experience in counselling people in a wide area of relationship issues; through grief , loss and bereavement, around gender and sexuality, with anxiety and depression, anger management and in personal growth and exploration.
Fee Structure:
£30 per hour reduced fee for clients on low incomes.
